Lowering blood pressure makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body and puts you at a lesser risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. Take it regularly and make appropriate lifestyle changes to maximize the effectiveness of this medicine.

Description

Torget 20 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called diuretics or water tablets. It is used to reduce the swelling (edema) caused by too much water in the body in people who have heart failure, liver disease, or kidney disease. This medicine is also used to treat high blood pressure.Torget 20 Tablet helps your body get rid of extra water and salt through urine. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines as per the dose advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is best to avoid taking this medicine within 4 hours of your bedtime to prevent having to get up at night to urinate.It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. If you stop taking it without consulting your doctor, your condition may worsen. Lifestyle changes like reducing stress, restricting salt intake, and stopping smoking may help this medication work better.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, dizziness, dehydration, decreased blood pressure, and stomach upset. These are usually mild and disappear after a short time. Consult your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolyte levels is important while using this medicine. It may reduce the potassium level in your blood so your doctor may ask you to add potassium-rich foods to your diet (such as bananas, coconut water, etc.) or prescribe supplements.

Torget 20 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Torget 20 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Torget 20 Tablet is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as the use of Torget 20 Tablet should be avoided in case you are unable to pass urine or the kidney damage is due to some medicines. | - Liver : CAUTION

Torget 20 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Torget 20 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If Miss

If you miss a dose of Torget 20 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Hence, it is important to keep a track of your blood glucose levels during treatment with Torget 20 Tablet.| Q. What are the side effects of Torget 20 Tablet?::: The common side effects of Torget 20 Tablet include headache, dizziness, dehydration, constipation, decreased blood pressure and stomach upset. Some of the serious side effects of Torget 20 Tablet include dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, rapid or excessive weight loss, vomiting blood, chest pain, difficulty breathing or swallowing, blisters or peeling skin, hives, rash, and itching. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any such symptoms.| Q. Does Torget 20 Tablet increase creatinine?::: Yes, Torget 20 Tablet may cause a mild increase in creatinine values depending on the dose you are taking. These increased creatinine levels may increase slightly more when this medicine is used for long term. However, with discontinuation of the treatment, these levels return to their base value.| Q. Does Torget 20 Tablet cause loss of potassium?::: Torget 20 Tablet may not cause direct potassium loss. But, in some cases, its use may cause excess loss of water which may lead to dehydration. Can I stop taking Torget 20 Tablet?::: Do not stop taking Torget 20 Tablet without talking to your doctor.
